Almost anyone who’s ever needed a stock image has heard of Shutterstock. Even if you’ve never signed up for a plan with them, plenty of free sites feature Shutterstock images. There’s a good reason for that.

For starters, Shutterstock has over 300 million royalty-free photos, stock footage clips and music tracks available. The site offers editorial photos from the entertainment, news, and sports industry as well. You also get a wide selection of vectors, illustrations, and icons right at your fingertips, too.

There are a ton of different categories to choose from, including education, technology, people, sports, and transportation. Shutterstock also breaks down the most popular searches of the current month.

While Shutterstock images are royalty-free, you’d need to buy them with available packages. Prepaid image packages start at $14.50 per image (or $29 for two) whereas their annual packages start at $29 a month for 10 photos. Their annual packages include the free Shutterstock Editor. If you’re looking for team member packages, Shutterstock offers $379 a month for two users and goes up to $579 per month for over four users.

Shutterstock also offers users plans for footage. For five HD clips, it’ll cost you $359. You can grab up to 25 HD clips for $1579.

Perhaps one of the best things about Shutterstock is that it lets you edit photos and create your own social media posts and advertisements. You can do everything for free with Shutterstock Editor (with an account) and it provides users with a helpful 30-second tutorial that goes over the basics. You have a wide selection of templates, text, and elements to choose from when editing. You can also layer, set backgrounds, tweak photo size and apply filters.

If you’re interested in getting images from Shutterstock, they’re not exclusively for desktops. Their pictures are also available on Google Play and the App Store.
